Built around how Canada actually trades

Canadian tax is added at the till, not built into the ticket price, and what gets added depends on the province — 5% GST on its own in some, a combined HST in others, with provincial sales tax alongside it elsewhere. Codipy POS sets Canada up as tax-exclusive with GST at 5%, and leaves the rate for you to set to your province, with per-product overrides for the categories that are treated differently.

What comes with it is the whole business rather than a register: stock, purchases, accounts receivable, real double-entry books, staff and payroll, and fifty-odd reports — installed on your own hardware for a one-time licence.

How shops in Canada get paid

Codipy POS records cash, Interac, cards, contactless and e-transfer — each one against the bill that used it. Split a single bill across two methods when a customer is short, and close the day with each method totalled separately so the drawer, the terminal and your statement all agree.

Tax the way Canada does it

Codipy asks one question — your country — and fills in the rest. Pick Canada and this is what the setup wizard applies:

Currency
CAD — Canadian dollar
GST/HST
5%, added at the till
On the invoice
GST/HST No

A rate is a starting value, not a lock. If the government moves it, you change it yourself in Settings → Currency & Tax the same day — you do not need a new version of the software. Individual products can carry their own rate, or be marked exempt.

Reaching customers by SMS and email

Invoices, payment reminders and offers go out on the channel your customers already answer. The credit-due list sends a reminder with the balance in one tap, so nobody retypes a number or copies a phone number by hand.

Whatever kind of shop you run in Canada

One installer configures itself for your trade — pharmacy, grocery, mobile and electronics, garments, hardware, restaurant, salon, bakery, workshop, distribution or general retail. Each one switches on the modules that trade like you do and leaves out the ones that would only get in the way.

POS software in Canada — questions

Does it handle GST, HST and PST?

Tax is added at the till and you set the rate for your province — 5% GST alone, a combined HST, or GST with a provincial rate. Products can carry their own rate or be marked exempt for the categories treated differently.

Will my GST/HST number print on invoices?

Yes, entered once during setup and shown on every invoice with the tax listed separately.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Everything about selling runs on your own PC and network.

Can I run several tills?

Yes — one server PC and unlimited client tills, discovered automatically.

Is there a French interface?

Not today. The software ships in English, Roman Urdu and Arabic. Tell us if French would decide it for you.
